Rules for flagging
The period 1 March to 31 October hoisted the flag at 8:00 am,
during the rest of the year at 9.00. The flag is hoisted down at sunset (see calendar).
If the flag is illuminated, it may be flown after sunset.
Upon death the flag shall be flown at half-staff on death- and funeral days.
Thereby hoist the first flag to the top and then hauled down a third of the length of the rod.
When the funeral service has taken place hoisted the flag first in top then hauled, either immediately or at the usual time.
For pennants there are no official rules.
It may hang up all day. No flagpole should be naked.
The flag and the pennant size
For standalone flagpoles should flag's length be a quarter of the rod height and a pennant a third.
The flag's durability and care
A flag does not hold indefinitely.
A flag for home use may be hoisted 17-20 times a year.
Provided it is handled properly, it has a long life.
After use, the flag is hung up to dry. Thereafter it shall be curled together.
Flags that are hoisted and constantly exposed to too much rain and strong winds can have a short lifetime.
Several flagpoles
If you have several flagpoles and want to hoist different
flags then the Swedish flag always have honorary center location.
Other national flags are placed in alphabetical order, from the place of honor and outward, the other to the heraldic right and every two to heraldic left.
The ranking placed the EU, UN, municipal, corporate flags and similar after the national flags.
If necessary, hoisted Swedish flags on the outermost flagpoles to fill all the flagpoles. Never leave one or more flagpoles empty!
